The mission of the Academy of Information Technology at Wiregrass Ranch High School is to provide innovative teaching and learning in a technology-enriched environment and to engage students in an academically challenging curriculum that prepares them for post-secondary education with industry validated technology skills. Industry Recognized Certifications

CIW- Internet Business Associate

Internet Business Foundations prepares students to work effectively in today’s business environment. In this course, students will learn about the tasks involved in various Information Technology (IT) job roles, and explore career opportunities in the IT industry. They will learn about Internet connection methods, Internet protocols, the Domain Name System (DNS) and cloud computing. Students will study the basic functions of Web browsers, the components of Web addresses, the use and control of cookies, and browser use in the business world. Finally, students will learn how browser plug-ins and add-ons can improve your Web-browsing experience, and how to use browsers to download and manage files.

CIW- Network Technology Associate

The Network Technology Foundations course prepares students for job readiness in many business and technology-related careers. Understanding the fundamentals of networking, Internet protocols and network security is important for all professionals who use the Internet. This certification proves one’s mastery of the basics of networking and prepares students for further study in the specialty of their choosing. Target audience: all professionals required to use the Internet in their daily job functions. Information in this course is required for all levels of specialization in the CIW program.

CIW- Site Development

Site Development Foundations teaches students essential Web page development skills. Individuals will learn to develop Web sites using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Extensible HTML (XHTML). The coursework will instruct them to write code manually, as well as use graphical user interface (GUI) authoring tools. Students will also learn how to insert images, create hyperlinks, and add tables, forms and frames to Web pages.


This certification is a credential that validates entry-level skills needed to plan, design, build, and maintain effective communications by using different forms of digital media. Photoshop enables users to animate video frames, paint and clone over multiple video frames, and import and export video files in a wide range of formats, engaging user experiences that create more accurate composites.
